Agreed Dusto. This one signing doesn't make up for the lack of international signings or the tight draft budgets of the last couple of years. However given all the shit the front office took for drafting Lee in the first place, this is a small step in the right direction. It's up to them to keep the momentum going during the off-season.

While its nice to see the team finally making movents toward the future, nothing NOTHING has been done on the international front. Free agent signings are terrible, as are the trades. The minor league system is devoid of any impact players and the 40 man roster is speckeled with holes like it was swiss cheese. The team lacks any kind of depth, yet all the while NedCo insists on taking the "winning additude" will magically propel them to the playoffs dispite the talent to do so.

As much as it pains me to say it (as a Chivas fan/Bofo fan), I totally agree with you. The 'compadrazgo' seems to have no bounds during any coach's tenure and Aguirre's now done it twice. In '02 he leaves out Tato Noriega in his prime to take Gabriel Caballero. Lavolpe leaves out Cuah in his prime to take his son-in-law Chiquis Garcia. I'm no longer surprised but I'm still pissed when this shit happens.

If what Zizinho said about Gio turns out to be true and not just something said in the heat of the moment after his brother was cut, it would speak loads about his professionalism. Gio would be a fool to throw away a World Cup especially considering that the guy's career hasn't exactly been smooth jumping from team to team. He's an enormous talent, but if he doesn't want to play, fuck it, don't let the door hit you on the vagina on your way out Gio.

Conejo's career is a never ending story. When he left Cruz Azul, I thought that was it and I would never have to worry about hearing the media suck him up (I've never thought of him as more than an average goalkeeper). Then Aguirre picks him out of nowhere over a pair of guys you pointed out. Orozco is a solid, young keeper and Oswaldo had a great season at Santos. Either one of those wouldn't have raised an eyebrow but instead you get a 37 year old who doesn't even have a team at the moment (replaced by Villalpando at Jaguares).
