The namesake...has been traded.
The Chicago White Sox acquired outfielder Juan Pierre from the Los Angeles Dodgers for two minor leaguers and cash.
Of the $18.5 million left on Pierre's contract, the White Sox will pay $3 million in 2010 and $5 million in 2011, sources said.
Only $8 mil off an $18.5 contract? Really you guys? I wonder if the Sox will even allow the Dodgers to pick 2 out of their top prospects. Probably not right? I almost forgot we're the Dodgers and we're entering the year of the dumpster dive (patent pending).
I'm still getting over the shock of losing my poster boy. The banner will be brought down, and it'll be a bitch to fold it into a triangle by myself because everyone else is too busy celebrating the trade. The name of the blog will soon become Jason Repko's Meniscus.

Not 2 top prospects, but:
1.) Getting anything in this deal, plus the salary relief, is great
2.) Ely looks fairly promising, not a stud, but the upside of a 3 is not bad.
dont get rid of the banner, thats the best looking banner on any blog out there right now
@KK
You're right. In fact, we're lucky anyone was willing to take on even a portion of Pierre's bloated contract. We'll see how it pans out, but I have a feeling that salary relief is going toward McCourt's lawyer fees.
@Henderface
Thanks man.
It's not often I get praise for my photoshops.
Everything will stay the same, I was just being dramatic.
*thug hug*
You do some nice work. Don't sell yourself short.
Ferio- Your photoshops are of course excellent, and I'm forever indebted to you for my banner which came out golden thanks to you.
Oh, and apparently Henderface loves him some Slappy McPopup.
Agreed that you shouldn't get rid of the banner. I would go to someone that will be in LA more long term like say I don't know...Frank McCourt. Oh. Wait. Actually maybe Repko is a nice idea.
