Welcome Back Eye Chart!

SoSG beat me to it, but I'd also like to extend a welcome back to Doug Mientkiewicz who got emotional after his first base hit back from injury. It also provides me with an excuse to use my photoshopped eye chart that's been sitting around for quite a while.

"The hit had absolutely no impact on the outcome of the game, as the Dodgers were well on their way to a 4-1 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Wednesday night when Doug Mientkiewicz singled to center field.

But it was significant enough to draw tears of joy from Mientkiewicz, who was told he wouldn't play again this season when he dislocated his shoulder in April."
You're wrong Jimmy Dugan, there is crying in baseball.

Nice tag Ferio.

Thank you sir.

Justin Duscherer let me borrow it.

Damn I feel bad for laughing at that.

And do you know of any good places to get blog templates? I've been looking for one that has a column on each side of the main content.

You should feel bad lol.

I found mine on a list that bloggerbuster.com put up.

Another one is btemplates.com They let you filter it so you'll see the 3 column ones that I think you're looking for.

Ferio- When you change the template, do you have to re-input all of the links, etc. that were on the original template? And do you just put in the new html code, or is there more to it?

I wouldn't want to lose the stuff I already have, that would be a pain in the ass haha.

All the templates I've seen are merely an .xml file that can be uploaded from the "Edit HTML" tab in Blogger.

If you have a lot of widgets in the sidebar, like links lists, they'll will be cleared out, in most cases. A warning comes up when you're uploading the xml saying "These widgets will be deleted".

If you're not loving that idea you can always back out. Plus it's a good idea to download your current template for backups sake.

Thanks. Hopefully I don't run into any more problems so I can stop pestering you with questions.

I'll answer all your questions for a percentage of your advertising revenue :)

KempKershaw September 6, 2009 1:09 PM

Haha if by advertising revenue, you mean less than something from a dollar menu, you might be disappointed.

Are the customizations from Blogger still available with a custom template? I've previewed a few templates so far, and my blog banner gets cut off.

Ferio September 6, 2009 3:01 PM

Most of the Blogger customizations will overwrite what you have added from a custom template so the banner, and anything else, will switch to the Blogger template's defaults.

What I've found best is finding a template I like and just tailoring it to my liking. It involves some css editing, but nothing overly difficult. Just resizing a few things here and there, or replacing an image with your own.

KempKershaw September 6, 2009 3:16 PM

I have no idea what css means (sadly), so this will probably be similar to something I've already asked.

Can I still customize things? I don't care if I have to re-do it all, just as long as I can re-do it and re-size the image like I did after you sent me the banner.

Figured it out.
