The Dodgers spent the least of all NL West teams as it pertains to top 10 picks of this year's draft, spending a grand total of $3,714,600.

  • Padres $8,548,700
  • Diamondbacks $8,548,700
  • Rockies $7,663,300
  • Giants $5,813,500
The Giants signed their highly touted 1st round pick Zack Wheeler, for $3.3 milliion and the Padres signed 3rd overall pick Donavan Tate for 6.25 million. The most the Padres have spend on a pick since Matt Bush in 2004,
"The team hopes for a far better return on their investment from Tate than it received from Bush, who never advanced above Class A, ran into a variety of legal issues, and was traded to Toronto in February".
The last time I saw Matt Bush, he was crying on the sidewalk.

The Rockies signed their 1st round pick
Tyler Matzek for a club-record $3.9 million, while the Diamondbacks signed their 1st round pick Bobby Borchering 4 days ago for $1.8 million. I've yet to find the amount that 2nd rounder Blake Smith signed for, but our compensation pick Aaron Miller, and our other 2nd rounder Garett Gould signed for $899,200, and $900,000 respectively.
